ValueMaker replaces Excel cell formulas containing a user-defined formula syntax / string (e.g. Hyperion Retrieve formulas, links to other files, etc.) with their calculated cell values. All other formulas in the spreadsheet are not impacted, thus keeping a formula audit trail. Prior valued formulas can be restored even after having saved the workbook! ValueMaker therefore allows the sharing of Excel files with other users who do not have, or should not have, access to the detailed source data. Avoids the '#VALUE!' error in spreadsheet cells if the other user refreshes the file (e.g. refreshing external file links / Hyperion retrieve formulas without access to the source files / database). Typical users are financial or business analysts using Hyperion Enterprise, HFM, or spreadsheets with links to external data, as a tool to share Excel reports within their organization. Also useful for remote off-data source working (e.g. during travel), or for the creation of data input templates.
