TOCR is a no frills product with the accent being entirely on accuracy. It has been tested against the internationally recognised ISRI database and accuracy was found to exceed the results of the well known, expensive, alternatives.

The product consists of the OCR engine and a viewer program to load and manipulate OCR and view both bitmap and TIF files. The viewer program has been written in VB 5 and, uniquely, the source code is supplied allowing programmers to tailor the application for their personal needs. The installation is designed to have a minimal impact on your system, loading only a few DLLs (if necessary) for VB5. It will not invade your system, it will not make itself the default application for any type of file, it will not appear in any place other than the usual Start\Programs menu.

In version 1.4 two new functions have been added: TOCRGetResultsEx returns extended information on results; OCRConvertFormat supersedes TOCRConvertTIFFtoDIB and can return a memory mapped file.
