Metabrowser is a free Web browser that displays a Web page and its metadata in the same window. Generated metadata can be saved to the page as HTML, copied to the clip as XML or HTML or sent to an external repository. Users can choose from a number of templates for Dublin Core, WAGILS, AGLS, and NZGLS and can customize them using the inbuilt macro language. Tutorials are provided and a full manual is available. RSS Channels are also supported. Metabrowser was formerly available as a commercial product and has been made available by Metabrowser Systems. A commercially available metadata repository, Metabrowser Server, is optionally available which tightly integrates with Metabrowser for distributed content management. New features include support for constructing and using your own schemes and direct drag drop of browser text into metadata fields. Free registration code needs to be entered after the 30-day trial period.
