Based on sixth-generation search technology, ISYS: Desktop supports 30 foreign languages and 125 file formats, including Office documents, PDF, e-mail, attachments, HTML, XML, and databases. Users can choose a variety of search methods to quickly and easily access, retrieve, and share relevant information across departments and geographic boundaries.

These query methods include natural language, standard keyword and phrase searching, and menu assisted for easily building queries using Boolean and proximity operators. Along with its sophisticated relevancy-ranking engine, ISYS: Desktop also offers hit highlighting, hit-to-hit navigation, user-defined synonyms, stemming, 'sounds like' matching, and intelligent date and number recognition.
