ViewMinder combines an image editor, a metadata editor and database, a timeline browser, and a search engine. It can display pictures by date and user-defined group, or perform detailed searches by creation information, content description and rights. Search rules can be saved, creating galleries that grow automatically as new pictures are added. ViewMinder runs on Windows 98 or more recent. On Win2000, NT, or XP it supports Unicode, allowing picture information to be written in any language or even in several separately. Exported images can be downsized manually or automatically to suit e-mail or mobile transmission. Free entry-level Genus ViewMinder manages collections up to 250 pictures. Expert ViewMinder handles larger collections and can export image metadata in XML form, either in a separate file or embedded in the same file, that can be imported automatically by other ViewMinder users. Business ViewMinder adds intellectual property rights management and picture usage monitoring.
