Fox Media Center is a media player that will turn off your computer after a movie finishes or after a certain time period. It can even lower the volume slowly over time while you go to sleep, then shut down the computer for you. It also has a playlist manager that will create a random playlist. You can choose any number of songs from any number of directories and have totally new random songs play each time you start the program. You also can create playlists from many types of files including MP3, OGG, DivX, Windows Media, QuickTime, and any other DirectShow-compatible media.
You can have Fox Media Center start when Windows starts, hide itself in the task tray, and start playing the last song you were listening to. Because the skins are all HTML pages, it's easy to create skins with any buttons and features you can put into a Web page. You can cue up many video downloads from Web sites and have the first one start playing; then, when the other videos arrive, they are added to the playlist. This way the other downloads don't stop the playback of the first one. When the first one finishes, the other videos are played automatically. It also has a keyboard hook so you can control the Fox Media Center while you're playing a game in full-screen.
