Evo Server Alive Monitoring (Evo SAM) was developed to monitor the status of tracked servers and services. If a tracked server is down, a notification will be directed to administrator by e-mail or sms. Evo SAM can also be configured to wake the tracked server up if it is down for example after power failure.
If a tracked service is down, Evo SAM will try to restart it automatically. Evo SAM can be configured to work as a Server to track the status of servers in a LAN or WAN and on the same time working as an Evo SAM client to report to another Evo SAM server. The frequency of status checking can be configured by the administrator depends on the network environment of his or her company. There are two ways to track server status. Firstly by TCP/IP protocol using IP address and port of the server. Secondly by Ping protocol whereby tracked servers will be pinged periodically to determine if they are online.
Wake Up server feature is disabled in evaluation version as well as IP and name of servers are hidden in e-mail or sms.
