With Download Wonder running in the system tray, as soon as you begin a download from within your browser, it immediately springs into action, controlling the download and prompting you so it can store, track, and organize everything you'll want to know about the file. It tracks information such as the filename, description, and notes; category and up to three keywords you specify; local hard drive location, independent of category; the Web site you were visiting and location of the file on the Web server; and date and time you downloaded the file, plus the file's size. Download Wonder also resumes interrupted downloads, produces extensive custom reports, exports data, allows you to open ZIP files, scans downloads for viruses, supports proxy servers, and includes a Keep Alive utility that prevents your ISP from disconnecting you. In this version, the Keep Alive utility now supports NetZero, can be configured to work only during downloads, and offers improved support for America Online. Also included in this version are enhancements to the user interface and improved handling of non-standard download hyperlinks. This free version of Download Wonder displays advertisements above the toolbar.
