This navigational tool makes an outline of HTML documentation or Web sites. Advanced HTML TOC creates tables of contents of HTML files from header tags or page titles. It can process single or multiple files. This program automatically uses existing named anchors inside header tags or creates new ones if there are none, and links TOC items to header tags. The user sets the range of header tags being used in the TOC. This can be used to create TOCs of various depths from the same files. If you change the file after you have generated a TOC, the program won't create redundant named anchors and won't duplicate the TOC. You can put numbering in TOC items and in header tags. If multiple files are processed, numbering is kept in order throughout all files. The TOC's appearance is based on a template. The user can create a new template or edit the existing one. The user can specify the place to insert the TOC. If a place is not specified, the program selects a place automatically.
The new version features a step-by-step wizard with inline help for new TOC projects; a better HTML parser; TOC extension for project files; a revised expanding/collapsing template; a revised user interface; and an enhanced help file.
